WC Notebook LIVE: England vs. USA

Pre-Game

Getting ancy, and the pre-game show is in 45 minutes!  has started. Ever since the draw about six-and-a-half months ago in Johannesburg, I've been eagerly awaiting the moment the United States would take on England. A fierce, frenemy to say the least, and an opener that's like no other. Historically, we've actually done well against the Brits. We opened against them 60 years ago in the 1950 World Cup, creating a buzz around the World (except USA) that we defeated England 1-0.

Times changed. England's still fairly strong, the USA is much stronger now, perhaps the strongest they've ever been. Bloggers have been analyzing every possibility since day one, and now whatever the match could be on paper is meaningless. What happens on grass is what counts. Call it a Revolutionary War...in Rustenburg.

Live commentary will be provided via the Valor Dictus Twitter feed, and I'll be live tweeting the game. However, I'll be at a World Cup game viewing party, so I cannot stay and watch the match on my computer.
