Part VI: Post Grunge's Wrath for 'All The Right Reasons'

In due time, Post Grunge towards the fall of 2005 found his ultimate thing to ensure Post Grunge was the kind of mainstream shitty rock. It was “All The Right Reasons”...and he found the perfect band...Nickelback! He then down poisoned the band and it was an album of generic ballads for the majority of the album with only one or two heavy songs. Plus...each song sounded the exact same. Post Grunge’s true dream for almost a decade finally came true and he was truly living life with all the mainstreamers.

That next year he even got more impressed with his next thing to add to the peat nut gallery was Daughtry. They were the quintessential target for him and Post Grunge loved him. For the next few years of 2006, 2007 and even 2008, Post Grunge held his wrath over the other bands except Theory and was truly proud of his accomplishment of even more bands to follow such as Anberlin, Saving Abel and Cavo.

Part V: The clash of the shit rock; Pop punk vs. Post-grunge vs. Emo

Time kept going and he was losing his patience with the bands he poisoned up with his generica trash. After the burst in 2001 and 2002 he was trying to think of a new plan. He saw a problem though in 2003 through 2004. He noticed his biggest attention whore rivals were getting in the way. Pop-Punk and Emo. With their bands like The Click Five, Fall Out Boy, All American Reject and Bowling For Soup stealing the rock mainstream...Post Grunge was boiling in anger at them. They stole his spotlight. Throughout the quiet year of 2004 for Post Grunge he was going to try hard for his 2005 master plan. It would ensure Post Grunge was the king of the shittiest rock music of the 21st century.

Problems came for Post Grunge though. His first problem was the total lack of cooperation with Theory of a Deadman. Theory was trying out their own styles and making their own sound that was more inspired by Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam and less by Creed and Nickelback. Post Grunge was infuriated at Theory and then Theory basically took a shit on Post Grunge’s lawn and never looked back at the dread genre. Post Grunge came across the same problems for Seether and Staind when they made “Karma and Effect” and “Chapter V”, respectively. They were heavy, back to their roots sounds, that Post Grunge hated with a burning passion.

For you Hanna. JUST FOR YOU.

Part IV: Hey! Look at me! I'm like grunge except a thousand times more shittier!

After the failure with Creed, Post-Grunge poisoned Nickelback with “generica trash”... it worked, but not the way Post Grunge wanted it to work. Nickelback’s third album Silver Side Up, had a song “How You Remind Me” that reached #1 in almost every country Post Grunge could think of. Post Grunge was proud of his efforts...but since he was an attention whore, he wasn’t proud enough. He then saw potential in Staind...who was a nu metal band. He knew his wrath would be unstoppable if he could poison Staind and make them generic mainstream rock trash. It sadly worked. “It’s Been Awhile” was a bit hit on the Hot 100.

Part III: From Grunge to Post-Grunge

Grunge couldn’t stand it being adored and loved to death by people, and neither could his homeboys. This had the effect primarily on Stone Temple Pilots and Soundgarden whom went down under to do underground projects, and the poor Alice In Chains tried...until during the wrath of “post grunge” (we’ll get to that later) got to them...so they drugged themselves up. Yeah. Not good. Luckily, though Pearl Jam handled the fame and basically dickslaped the record companies and did their own thing. Eddie Vedder was happy (for a Grunge artists), more like satisfied. Epic Records was in shambles and shame.

Part II: Welcome to Mainstream (Hell)

Grunge soon began to make a couple friends like him. He very first friend was Buzz Osborne who would later make the legendary band “Melvins”. Soon over time, Grunge began to make more homeboys to chill with, such as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Mudhoney and the Stone Temple Pilots. Grunge though started to get irritated, because of the mainstream. Grunge HATED the mainstream, more than he hated anything else (except his homeboys). Around say, 1991-1993, Grunge was somewhat forced into the mainstream....

PART I - GRUNGE: FROM MUSIC TO SEATTLE

Once upon a time there was the magical land known as “Real Rock Music”, a province as you might say in the all might land of Music. It was back in the days of the early 1980’s, or some say around 1982. There lived a kid named Grunge. Grunge, he was angst-ridden kid with many things that pissed him off. Easily you could say that Grunge wasn’t exactly your kid you wanted to play on the playground with.

Poor grunge didn’t have that many friends, Grunge’s parents, “heavy metal” and “alternative rock” abandoned him. The more popular kids such as Roots, Hardcore Punk, Metal and Blues left the Grunge alone. Grunge often was seen playing in the dirt, which is an urban legend of how he got his name. Grunge soon got tired of living in the land of “Real Rock Music” and moved to a far away foreign land off the map. Today, we call that newfound land “Seattle”. Grunge loved Seattle, primarily because it was a depressing city to live in. It rained, and rained, the sky was frequently grey and black. And you know what? Grunge loved it. He didn’t give a shit what others thought of him. He was kind of an underground independent thinker in organizing his thoughts.

My predictions for the oh-so-noble CONCACAF Champions' League during Group Stage.

GROUP A

1. Pachuca

Pachuca will win, because Pachuca always wins. Lousy statement, but let's face the reality. The only club that can remotely challenge the Tuzos is Houston. Even then, Pachuca should manage to comfortably achieve victory over the Orange Crush. Pachuca plays smart, patiently and capitalizes on any opportunity, making it a nightmare for any squad that makes an error. Pachuca can win this group going 6-0-0 the whole way out.

2. Houston Dynamo

While Pachuca leaves the rest of the group in the dust, the Orange Crush will be having their own problems vying for the second spot over DAU. Unido though, has not been playing so hot this season, while Houston has been playing fairly well, like they have over the past few years. With U.S. veteran Ching and the upcoming prospects for the USMNT such as Holden and Clark...the Dynamo should overcome the challenges from the Panamanian and Salvadorian clubs.

3. Arabe Unido

DAU does have many internationals on the squad...from Panama, but they're a very potent team to play against. Winners of many Central American club championships, they're in ground that's very familiar to them, against though, squads that might be more foreign to the turf...but far more talented.

4. Isidro Metapan

Metapan couldn't be anymore excited just to be playing in the tournament...every other team couldn't be anymore excited when they get to play them. They'll probably lose all their games.

GROUP B

1. Toluca -- Mexico

Bit of a shame that Toluca, who are easily classified as a top world club power...and probably one of the best in the Americas are placed in probably the toughest group. In my opinion, this group is easily the group of death for the Champions League. Toluca, will have a few speed bumps along the way. The games in San Pedro Sula and Washington, D.C. wont be easy victories for the Diablos Rojas, but they'll pick them up...hopefully. Toluca should win every game in their group stage, and maybe tie Maraton on the road.

2. Maraton -- Honduras

What's essentially a rat race for the second spot behind the Mexican team, Maraton should snatch it over the Trinidadians and Americans. A speedy, sometimes unpredictable team, with stars such as Henrequez and Martinez should rocket the Esmeraldas ahead of the Black and Red and Jabloteh.

3. San Juan Jabloteh -- Trinidad and Tobago

Normally the third place contestant from the Carribbean in this tournament is typically the weakest. The Jabloteh have been playing fairly solid lately, and might be the weakest team. However, they'll come in with a lot of heart, but that doesn't necessarily outplay skill. Still, the should overcome the obstacles of DC United, but it's a whole different range with Maraton and the mighty Toluca.

4. D.C. United -- USA

As winners of the 2008 U.S. Open Cup, the DC United have been long-struggling this season. If it was...say the DC United from 2006 or 2007...hell, it'd be DC United probably winning the league, they did come in third I think in the previous cup. Well, not this year. The United are struggling to gain the final play-off spot for the 2009 MLS Cup, and have been stacking up an unbearable number of ties. DC United also barely squeaked by Firpo of El Salvador to earn this spot. The rusty United, who used to be the cornerstone of premier American soccer will see themselves sorrowfully bow out of the tournament with maybe a win against San Juan, and that's about it.

GROUP C

1. Columbus Crew -- USA

The reigning MLS Cup champions had a bit of a shaky start to the season, but over the past month or so the Crew have cruised back atop the Major League Soccer standings. In my opinion probably the strongest American soccer club right now, and the only club I'd put in my top 100 list...from the United States. The Crew should also easily win this group with the help of a star-studded cast like Schlotto, Lenhart and Rogers. Should be mention their group? It's probably by far the easiest group. I see Columbus being the only non-Mexican club to win a group.

2. Cruz Azul -- Mexico

The Apateura '08 champions, in my opinion, are the weakest Mexican team in the Champions League. That's not say a whole lot, because I still expect the Cementeros to still qualify for the knockout round. Still, it'll be hit or miss for the squad. Depending on how they open up, they'll either vie with the Crew for first place, or try to hold off Saprissa for the final qualification spot. I see them winning all their home fixtures, but only managing to snatch a win in Puerto Rico on the road.

3. Saprissa -- Costa Rica

Perhaps the strongest Costa Rican club ever, Saprissa is looking rather shaky this season coming into the league. The 2008 Invierno champions had the qualification straight to group stage, but I felt there were some clubs eliminated in the preliminary stages prior to the group stage that were more deserving of a spot here. Nevertheless, Saprissa should get a few crowd-pleasing wins at home...well, except probably a tie with Columbus, but ultimately play exceptionally poor on the road.

4. Puerto Rico Islanders -- Puerto Rico

Being a subpar United Soccer Leagues club, the Islanders are by far the weakest club in the tournament. The Islanders were the finalists in the CFU Championship, but honestly there's only a handful of Trinidadian and Antigua and Barbudan clubs that remotely come close to challenging the Islanders in what is the easiest club tournament in the Western Hemisphere. Their qualification game was nothing too difficult to get here either. A rather meager aggregate victory over the struggling Toronto FC.

GROUP D

1. UNAM Pumas

2. Communicaciones

3. Real Espana

4. Western Connection

Synopsis

This past week has been a slow, but steady improvement of morale. To be honest, I'm not like full blown gleamy happy. I don't think I will be anytime soon. Who knows though, something might happen that I don't see coming that'll shock me. But after a mediocre to good week this week and a typical week to a shitty week two weeks ago things for the most part are going quite well. This week was a fairly calm and laid back week and it gave me time to relax and think hard about important things that I want to do right my junior year. It seems a bit weird for a 16, almost 17 year old to think about it in that retrospect, but it's what I did. Below I'll recap my day.

Stories

The Week of August 10-16, 2009

Seeing though that I have not typed a single Tyler Talk this week, even though I did have time to, I might as well take the time to recap each day in a paragraph summary, so you Tyler Talk deprived fans can get a basic conceptual understand of the summer life of a crippled kid. Really though, this week made it seem like I got no life, primarily because of the injuries that I suffered. Now since a lot of the day were repetitive, I had to revert somewhat to my iCal and my Twitter feed to inform me with such...exciting events I did.

Monday, August 10, 2009

Monday was the first day back home from my week on vacation in Cape May, New Jersey. Originally, my plan was to go back to work today at Site Works, Inc. in Manassas. Well, also my plan for today because of the injury was not to go to work, but go get my arm checked out at the orthopedist. We needed to check to see a cast I might potentially need. Thankfully since I wasn't going to work, I slept in until around 11:00 AM, which for an early riser like me who normally gets up between 8:30-10:00 AM, that's pretty deep sleeping in, if you ask me. Now...I had to wait until around 3:00 PM, until we got a call from the orthopedic offices that I would not be seen until 1:00 PM. So, that day was pretty much wasted. It was spent resting my are in a splint, and watching TV, going online, and such. Got kind of boring after three hours.

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

This day, was unfortunately, the only day thus far that week I knew I would be heading out of the house. I would be going to the doctor's office to have the orthopedist take a new x-ray on my elbow to see what the damage done was. I spent a lot of the day though tweeting about how...lame my day was going to be. First, we went to FedEx Kinko's at University Mall ('we' is my Mom and I), and then we drove to the orthopedist. It was like good old memories again of my mom driving me places...primarily because driving around with a broken elbow is probably not the best idea. The doctor checked my elbow, he knew it was broken, ran some x-rays and we got a surprising outcome. My arm was not going to be casted! It was some shocking news to hear that, but it was so that my elbow wouldn't stiffen from the accident and so that I can do therapy about three to five times a day by turning my arm and bending my elbow. It wouldn't make the fracture any worse, and it would help the healing process. After the pleasant news, I got the rough news. That was no physical activity for four to six weeks. Thus meaning I would miss our team's soccer camp and the first two regular season matches. Plus...no driving for at least two weeks.

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

Supposedly early this day there was a meteor shower to view at around 4:00 AM. Guess what I was doing at 4:00 AM Wednesday morning?! I was...sleeping! I thought it wasn't worth it, not because of the awkwardly early time, but also because it was a cloudy and stormy night. We have enough stormy nights as it is during the summer, so I found no need to exert more effort to see an illumination show in the clouds. Since once again I had planned on working today, and because of a series of unfortunate events, I had no plans for today. That afternoon though I watched the United States take on Mexico in soccer at Estadio Azteca. Now, the Azteca is one of the world's most intimidating stadiums in soccer to play at. Mexican soccer fans without any questions asked are the biggest dicks in the world of soccer fans. Throwing trash and opponents, and so on. Plus, if there's any team they hate more...it's the United States. In international soccer, the USA and Mexico are big time rivals. Kind of like the Cowboys and the Redskins. Or the Yankees and the Red Sox. These two along with Costa Rica and Honduras are the big boys of CONCACAF and really often vie for the title as the stronger team in CONCACAF. Since the USA never has beaten Mexico in Mexico or in the Azteca, I didn't suspect the USA in winning this game, yet alone score a goal. Well, what do you know? In the ninth minute a pass from Michael Bradley to Charlie Davies led to a goal with the USA up 1-0 over Mexico. Damn. Davies' celebrating made my day. He went to the corner kick flag and starting singing and dancing as if the flagpole was a microphone. The Mexican dickheads were throwing trash at Davies and Davies was messing with them. It was a sign of things to come. Basically we told Mexico "hey! We're NOT afraid of you!" And the Mexican team knew they wouldn't have an easy match. Sure Mexico won...but not with ease. Good game though. USA will probably spank the rest of the teams in world cup qualification...Mexico, will fight to even qualify. Yikes!

Thursday, August 13, 2009

It was truly another lame, boring day. The only worthwhile thing I probably did this day was finish my summer reading book, entitled 90 Minutes in Heaven. Since that's all, I might as well go on an explain the book to you. Truly, it's a crazy book.
