Tomorrow is the day of the REI meeting thing. And RAISE tomorrow, I’m getting a bit rushed to get showered off and cleaned up so I am going to leave it at that, don’t worry they’ll be a Tyler Talk tomorrow...after all when you do this everyday for almost four months, it feels weird not to do.

I have used Uvindu Wanniachchige (whew! That’s a ridiculously long last name!) multiple times in the “Photo of the Day” section below this story, but never have I really spoken much about him. He’s my favorite, least favorite, best friend and my mortal enemy that’s of Sri Lankan decent. Needless to say he’s my only friend that’s a Sri Lankan...that I know of. Seriously the kids cool and funny. And he’s my hero, especially after viewing Hot Spark. But this...hero had a flaw today and reminded us all that we all make mistakes, but he made a big no-no. And I reacted well.

Since I ate “D” lunch I ate with a unusual group of friends for the day. Uvindu was the term we coined the “trash bitch”. Basically, the trash bitch is the one that sits on the end of the table and all the trash gets accumulated to him...his or her responsibility is to throw it all away. Hence the name trash bitch. But when Uvindu was about to pick it all up, he dropped all the food, about three trays worth of scraps and crums. Hadn’t I responded quickly it would have all landed in my lap, but I zoomed backwards in my chair and was away from the mess, not one morsel of food made contact with me. I feel proud of that, but poor Uvindu he looked like a dumb ass, we all had a good laugh about and it got cleaned up.

I forget which passing it was, I think it was actually before seventh period, I come to my locker and it has a duct tape “X” on it, thankfully it was duct taped shut...or I would have other problems on my hands. Thankfully, it wasn’t. In about fifteen to twenty seconds I had the “masterpiece” disarmed and reassembled on Renee Redmen’s locker. But it only took mere seconds to figure out who the culprit was in this...operation. Patrick Brimberry. I mean, after I grabbed my books for the next class and dropped off my books from the previous class I saw Patrick running towards me. And I knew he was coming towards me. He was halfway laughing and failing miserably in a poor attempt to keep his face looking contempt. Before he could say anything I slyly asked “would you happen to know who put duct tape on my locker?”

He was defeated or well...but in the hot seat. He fussed up fast, but he wasn’t telling me who else helped me. I asked Stephen Goodrick and Anna Farwell if they knew, I knew it wasn’t them, because they’re like my two nicest friends...they would never do that. Plus, I couldn’t see them pulling a practical joke on me. Well...maybe Stephen. Now I bet Anna’s reading this and thinking “oh...just wait Tyler...!” I sense it. Okay, knocked on wood...totally safe to a legit level now.

But after school Renee confessed and told she was responsible to, then Patrick was then accusing Renee of forcing him to do it. I’m confused honestly by the whole mess of stories, and if you are too...don’t worry. I’ll figure it out tomorrow, or I’ll just blow it off my shoulders. Or possibly plot some...revenge...

I guess I am. Well not majority, during this quiz we took to test if we were either a visual, audio or kinesthetic learner, it was split across for me. Of the 12 questions, I got 5 for kinesthetic, 4 for visual and 3 for audio. So, kinesthetic I guess. A kinesthetic learner is someone who learns better by doing really interactive stuff, like hands on. No, no sexual pun intended. For that Mrs. Granville divided us into groups (oh this is AP Government by the way) into three groups. Each group as a mix of visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners. We only have four kinesthetic learners in the class, including me...so I was the only one in my group. Woo, represting the super minority! The group wants me to do some game for defense and foriegn policy. I thought about using the game Risk as an example.

However, the game Risk...it’s boring. It’s like Monopoly. Perhaps comedian (don’t get angry Brandon Wardell) Dane Cook explains it the best, “when you play monopoly...two hours into any game of Monopoly...................*boom* FUCK THIS GAME!!!!!” Yeah it makes you laugh, but it’s true, especially in Risk. Risk is a game you could start today and not finish until it’s Spring Break, and towards the latter half of it. My idea is though to make people wear signs of them of continents, regions and or nations. Then explain it from there. Easy, cheap, and most importantly...short and sweet and to the point.

This is due on Tuesday, March 31. We begin work tomorrow.

You guys know my morning drill, so the real “exciting” or well noteworthy stuff of today began with Computer Graphics class and finalizing the playing card project. I probably annoyed Stephen Goodrick a lot by asking him what he thought of the various designs I was experimenting with looked like. So, on Friday I’ll try to annoy him less on that...or will I? I went to RAISE Time in my Chemistry class and I perked up my lab with Josh Choi and I did my test corrections. Tomorrow, I take the retest...wish me luck. Time kept passing then it was AP Government, we got into our groups today on the public policy project. From there it was Chemistry for an unexpected 50 minutes instead of 20 minutes due to a quiz so it was my first time ever in my Robinson years going to “D” lunch...it was okay. Then I had Spanish, where I tried to cheer up Kyle Barry. Had a rough day (Kyle did), then I stayed after school to, ironically, retake a Spanish quiz that I pissed when I was sick last week. From there I had a swim check for Boy Scouts at the South Run RECenter, then I came home. And I’m serious as long as it, that’s about as minimal I could get.

We all learn something new everyday, for instance, a couple days ago as many of you remember from a previous blog, Michael Plant learned the definition of the sexual innuendo number sixty-nine (69). Today, I learned something myself, I learned what the wear “apathetic” means. Okay, I probably have learned the word and used the word in months past, but I don’t really recall it this morning when Ben Johnson used in a sentence when speaking to me. I think I asked him what’s up and he answered that he was in an apathetic mood. I went to a trusted source to get my puzzling question answered...Stephen A.B. Goodrick. After all, his mother’s an English teacher, so it’s in his blood to be a human dictionary. He gallantly answered that it meant non caring. I was going to go back to talk to Ben to take interest in life, but I ran into another Ben on the way back...it was Benjamin Wittig. I couldn’t ignore him, so I stopped and had a wonderful two-minute chit chat with him. Afterwards, I went to go confront Ben.

I began to throw a bunch of crap of him with theories and philosophies that he should live his life to the fullest and not be in a “I don’t care mood”. I mean, you’re gifted with this life and you as we know live only once so every moment you should take advantage of it. Ok yes, we all have those blah mood inside of us from time to time, but I mean this is Ben Johnson we are talking about. The kid’s a gallant, happy kid that should be a caring mood all the time...nah I’m just kidding, we all have the right to be “meh...” every now and then, I know I have. So it’s okay Ben...don’t let it happen again, just kidding.

It’s now time to give you a brief recap of stuff that’s going on in my life over the next couple of days. For me, soccer practice starts tomorrow for the 2009 soccer season, it’ll be interesting to see what blogging will be like during the soccer season, it will be a lot less stress pressing, because soccer will only be on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and on the weekends, preferably on Sunday’s. So anticipate some coverage on the practices and games. The preparation for Philmont 2009 this summer continues to go on as we begin the hardcore preparations. On Thursday expect some stories on the backpacking course at REI. Spring Break is coming up soon, so they’ll be an ongoing series of Spring Break from Day 1 which is Friday, April 3, all the way to the final day which is Day 10 on Sunday, April 12. Good stuff ahead. Alright, time to stop typing this thing, later guys.

My lunch was truly a unique lunch today with M.H., B.J. and T.D. It wasn’t so much out of the ordinary since we were bashing T.P. in telling him that he was the devil and his father is a Satanist. Even though these are both false and incorrect statements, but I guess the thing that made this lunch stand out from other lunches was that I bought lunch today. Above in other stories and such are valid explanations why I didn’t, but it was mainly because I lacked time to and were out of food, so I had the new pizza with all that stuff on top of it. It was actually not that bad, fairly decent...although that was the first, and probably last time I will have that pizza.

The cookies, are extremely oddly cooked. I mean it’s like a freaking semicircle in terms of what’s cooked and what could have been cooked longer, actually no it isn’t that. Either you have one semicircle that’s cooked normally, then another that’s cooked, but not longer enough. Most times, the case is that one semicircle is extremely burnt to a crisp, on the contrary the other semi circle...cooked normally. It’s ridiculous and a waste of money. The Sun Chips are good though, and so is the pink lemonade. Needless to say though, don’t expect me to eat school lunches that often at school for the rest of the year, heck for the rest of my time at Robinson Secondary School.

Who would have thought we would be doing something....interesting in Chemistry. I sure as hell didn’t know it, or expected it. But what do I know? I wasn’t there on Thursday so of course I wouldn’t know what on earth was going on in the class today. If you want a generic, simple answer...we played with fire. No that sounds dangerous it makes it seem like we were doing stuff that we were not suppose to be doing. It was actually an experiment that required we used fire. We set fire to marshmallows and cheese puffs and see how much mass they originally had was and how much weight they lost after being fried to death.

Simultaneously, we were putting the burning food underneath a coke can, which was suspended on crane like iron hooks over the ground. During that time we would record the temperature of the initial water in the coke can, then record the temperature after the substance would stop burning and it was all burnt out. The numbers somewhat surprised me, since for the fact...I had no idea what to expect.

I've been slacking a bit on the Tuesday Tunes, so it's now Tuesday, which means...TIME TO DO ANOTHER TUESDAY TUNES!!!!

Today, there is this rather unknwon metal band, specifically sludge/progressive metal band called Mastodon, and they have this new single called "Oblivion" which is from their fourth-coming album, Crack the Skye, which comes out a week from today! (That's March 24).

Not to sound unoriginal, but this song just is epic. The chorus at least. Something, something bold, it's just wild.

Update 04/01/09: Here's the audio.

During Spanish, I developed a pounding headache so severe that I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to go to the clinic. For me, going to the clinic is a rare occurrence and I usually try to avoid going, and just wait till I get home, but today I just couldn’t take it, I need to just not think and rest, which makes me feel relieved that I got an easy day tomorrow except for my Geometry test, but I got that taken care of during the morning hours.

What was weird about my trip to the clinic was..well the trip in general. Every time I went to and from the clinic I ran into someone I know, yeah that isn’t so weird but when it just so happens to be really, really good friends of yours...yeah that’s a bit odd. Especially in the case that it had to be four maybe five people. That’s really rare.

Today I got asked a question by Brandon Murphy that many people have been asking me recently. ”How do I have time to type these blogs?”. It does seem weird that a person like me that’s extremely busy with many things even has time to even get on a computer. It’s not a time management thing necessarily. It’s just become a ritual I’ve done, like brushing your teeth, or taking a shower. Not yet has it affected school, but the real reason why I manage to have time to do these blogs even when it seems like I got no time to do anything, it’s because I manage my time wisely. When I get home I usually do my homework immediately and study for any tests...if applicable. On night I got nothing planned I get that done by around...4:30 PM. That leaves the rest of the evening to do other stuff and usually during that time I find time to type these blogs.

Even if I am busy after school, I will usually get my homework done by about 8:30 PM still leaving enough time to type a blog. Unfortunately, since things are going to rapidly pick up for me starting this weekend, do not be surprised if a few days there isn’t any blogs. Shocker, I know, but I can’t do it all.

Today was also a day I rather just skip, but it had to come anyways. That was my Chapter 6 chemistry test. It had been a unit where I had severely struggled in, but I have been busting my ass off studying in an attempt to get a decent grade on this test. It was a fairly easy test on some questions, but rather difficult on others. My hope from this, is that I manage to get at least a “B” on this test. I reread and double checked everything to the best of my abilities especially in balancing formula equations, which I suck at. I probably got a few problems here and there wrong, but I hope I did good. Ah...if only there was an effort grade in Chemistry on tests, I’d probably get nothing lower than a B+.

Since for today I don’t have a lot of new material to entirely talk about, I’ll just dedicate my first story of the day to an update on this field trip I am going to for my AP Government class to Washington, D.C. It is on Friday, May 8. But one thing will make it awesome...it’s on a blue day. Traditionally, I tended to loving blue days and hating gold days, but this year is the first year ever in Robinson history that I love gold days and hate blue days. But let’s compare and contrast. Blue days: Computer Graphics [awesome subject, Stephen Goodrick, but the rest of the class is weird], AP Government [cool subject, fun class, great teacher], Chemistry [awesome class, awful teacher, boring subject], and Spanish [so-so class, nice teacher, difficult]. Now for gold days: Geometry [dull class, TERRIBLE teacher...and math!!! AGH!!], AP Government [see above], English [funny class, awesome teacher, cool subject], and Health [Mr. Blair, somewhat boring subject, awesome class, chill workload].

So with the exception to Computer Graphics on blue days and Geometry on gold days I like blue days not as much as gold days. Wow, I can’t believe I wasted all that space on something that had totally no relevance to what I was focusing on. Hey now, we all make mistakes.

So that means I only have to go to Computer Graphics that day! That’s pretty sick, if I do say so myself!

One of these days I just want a day when things just go my way. Like a day where the people I always have to go up to to talk to come up to me and talk to me. Or a day where everyone’s just happy, because no one seems to be that happy lately. Everyone’s down and grouchy and their moral affects peoples social being. I and others are smart enough to know no one is mad just aggravated about life. It’s so true though. Life couldn’t be any more of a bitch than it is right now. I can’t even think of it all, but damn there’s so much. Plus school’s hard. No matter how much fucking effort I put in, it’s never good enough. Standards are way too high, and they got to be lowered. Everything is too over-competitive and it needs to be open up into a broader spectrum.

The Rough Go Day
