MLS Power Rankings: Week 19

Sadly, as we all wish did not happen...it did. Parity finally managed to creep through the likes of the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Columbus Crew. Has not hit Real Salt Lake though, perhaps D.C. United though is just that bad that RSL can completely dominate them. By the way, I'm sick of MLSSoccer.com describing the United as "hapless". Find a different word. You've used it at least a dozen times. Yes, it is unfortunate for them, but find creativity. And on to the power rankings we go, where nearly 7 teams have identical records. Only man could be happy about this...Don Garber.

1. REAL SALT LAKE (10-4-4)

Last Week: 2
Result: W 3-0 vs. D.C. United

If Robbie Findley was able to shoot on frame, and not by a bizarre luck of the crossbar, RSL would have easily walked away from Rio Tinto with a repeat blowout, like they did against New England a few weeks back.

2. FC DALLAS 96 (6-2-9)

Last Week: 6
Result: W 3-0 vs. D.C. United

Suppose, they're a dark horse team, because they're the only Major League Soccer team playing like it's 2009 (by that I mean tying every single game). They have not lost though since May, but it'd be nice to see the team do anything except tie games. More proof that parity has returned into MLS. And the Commissioners wonder why people think it's boring...

3. LOS ANGELES GALAXY (12-3-4)

Last Week: 1
Result: L 2-3 vs. Chicago

Los Angeles has been looking poor on defense lately, first with their Champions League failure against Puerto Rico, and now conceding three goals before 20 minutes. Landon Donovan's 100th and 101st MLS career goals still couldn't save them. Which were all penalty kicks.

4. COLUMBUS CREW (12-3-4)

Last Week: 3
Result: L 1-3 vs. Chivas USA

Why has parity returned? Chivas USA, a club that's suppose to be dogging it, especially with the loss of Kljestan; plays against supposedly the "strongest Eastern Conference team". (DITCH THE CONFERENCES!!!!!! They're corny and useless). And they lose...bad. Pure irritation I guess, and this is a neutral fan that only asks one thing: no parity...and well...maybe no conferences either. That'd be nice.

16. KANSAS CITY WIZARDS (3-8-3)

Last Week: 14

One thing to lose to one of the better MLS clubs in your home ballpa–stadium...yet it's another thing when you lose to weakest team lately...in your hometown. KC has been horrid.
