Time once again to introduce my August 2010 FIFA Club Power Rankings. Now, as always, there's going to be some flaws, and doing a hundred teams isn't exactly the most easiest thing to do. Tried to diversify a bit, but the fact is, the upper half will be dominated by UEFA Champions League-bound clubs, while the bottom half will be Europa League-bound clubs, and the middle-of-the-pack clubs in the stronger European leagues (i.e. Serie A, La Liga, EPL, etc.) There's a handful of teams outside of Europe on here, but odds are almost all of them will be overrated in due time.
Some notes before getting into the rankings:
- Inter Milan continues to hold the top spot coming off of a Champions' League title, a Serie A title and the nation's domestic cup. They should win the Club World Cup in December.
- While all the top teams are really good, it's not necessarily a "traditional" top ten, I suppose. Arsenal, AC Milan, Liverpool and Ajax are among the clubs not in the top 10.
- Only two non-European clubs made the Top 20. Estuadiantes (#16) probably is not a huge surprise, but the MLS club, the Los Angeles Galaxy (#19) (heed Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle) will easily draw some critics. Until now, never has an American club cracked the Top 20 on my list, and the highest before this was in March when the Columbus Crew reached #42. Three other MLS clubs made the list: Real Salt Lake (#45), the Crew (#65) Red Bull New York (#94)
- CSKA Moscow, the current Russian leaders, and quarterfinalists in last year's Champions League are the highest ranked Europa League-bound club sitting at #12.
- The list features: 82 UEFA clubs, 8 CONMEBOL clubs, 6 CONCACAF clubs and 4 AFC clubs. No CAF nor OFC clubs made the list.

LA Galaxy at #19? Over Man City? Sorry, I'm an MLS fan and an American, but thats not even remotely true.
Man City's 1-2 loss to Red Bull New York wouldn't help their cause to be higher than LA at the moment, though given their poor Champions League performance, the Galaxy would probably fall a bit on a new list.
